Hello from Indigo Elephant!

Welcome to the premiere issue of The Indigo Elephant Newsletter! I’m Julius and I’m the drummer for the band. I also do most of the social media stuff! We decided to start a newsletter because we wanted a space to go more in-depth about the inner working of the band, and let y’all more into the behind the scenes for our growing project. Going anything more than surface level with a social media post can get lost in the data-space, so it’s nice to have a place where I can yap as much as I want, and connect with people willing to read it!

What to Expect:

I’m going to be the main writer for this newsletter, and I’m currently planning to write something up every two weeks. I’m starting a new job today and I think biweekly is a good pace to aim for as I both get situated with my new job + get situated with writing a newsletter. I’m learning a brand new skill here, and I hope my college creative writing classes will serve me well in this role…

Here’s the types of posts you can expect from me, or perhaps guest writers in the future if my other bandmates are willing!

  • What we’re currently listening to / us recommending things in general

  • Show recaps

  • Posting playlists we make

  • Behind-the-scenes photos of us doing band things

  • Updates on big band things like new music and events

  • Exclusive videos of us playing during rehearsals

I think our next post is going to be a general history of Indigo Elephant, how we started, and who is in the band 🙂 

Cliff, our bassist, is also our art director, and when he has the time he’ll also work on making sure our newsletter looks as 🔥 as it can be!
